Team NS Wins 20 National Medals!
June 5-8, Nova Scotia was represented at the Skills Canada National Competition in Vancouver, British Columbia in 42 competition areas, including aircraft maintenance, auto service, baking, cabinetmaking, carpentry, cooking, IT software solutions for business, and many more. Each competition took place over two days, and competitors from every province and territory participated.
From the moment they won gold at the Nova Scotia Skills Competition, members of Team Nova Scotia have been training in the weeks leading up to the Skills Canada National Competition. All of their hard work paid off. Team Nova Scotia brought home 6 gold medals, 7 silver medals, and 7 bronze medals; winning Nova Scotia a record-breaking, twenty medals in seventeen categories.
Winning competitors came from the Annapolis Valley Regional, Strait Regional, Chignecto-Central, and Halifax Regional School Boards; NSCAD, NSCC, and Apprenticeship.
